Kayla + Nate (UWRF)
A Real Life Tinder-ella Love Story!
When we first met Kayla at the Wedding Fair almost two years ago, we knew she was the exact kind of Bride we not would not only love to photograph, but that we could become great friends with! We didn’t even know at the time that her other half and hubby-to-be, Nate, was actually an old high school friend - so our connection was truly meant to be! Over the last two years it has been such a JOY getting to work with and know these two as a couple better. Their love story is one of GREAT joy, lots of LAUGHTER, and even BIGGER love.
After finishing their college days at River Falls (Kayla a WI gal) and Kansas (Nate a MN guy) - they connected through a dating up and were set to meet on a blind date at Big Bowl, after both giving the big thumbs up! Nate was running super late, and ended up missing the date all together! He almost lost the girl, unti Kayla decided to give him a second chance after a massive apology. They met for real, on a their “second first date” and the rest is history!
Their wedding day was a perfect representation of them in every way! After foregoing the first look and having a busy morning of anticipation, they saw each other for the first time as Kayla walked down the aisle to “I get to love you.” They both cried happy tears (and if I’m being honest, so did WE behind the camera!) The knot was officially tied under in the warm sun at the beautiful outdoor amphitheater at UW River Falls campus (Kayla’s Alma Mater) and loved ones gave readings such as “Uncommon Love” and Ruth 1:16 “Where you go, I will go. Where you stay, I will stay…” Their wedding was truly a family affair - with their Aunt as the officiant and Cousin as the DJ.
The party didn’t stop there! After spending some time taking photos, laughing, and exploring campus together, we headed to the reception for dinner, dancing, and fun! I belly laughed more times than I could count, watching the battle between ‘SKOL’ & ‘PACK’, seeing their friends + family sing love songs into the microphone to get them to kiss (no clanging forks here), and of course some hilarious speeches. As soon as the dinner was over, the dance floor FILLED and everyone busted a move with the bride + groom - yielding some of our FAVORITE dance floor photos ever. When guests needed a break from the dance floor, they closed down the night with the Scherer Photo Co. photo booth! SO MUCH FUN! Chris and I were so honored to have been a part of this incredible wedding day - and know that big, amazing things are coming for these two in the future! Cheers Mr. + Mrs. Klecker - you guys are the BEST!
